The Madness of Jake Caulder chapter 3

Chapter 3

Mr. Jacobs always stayed until everyone had gone home. He liked doing this. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust others to lock up properly. It’s just that it was something he happened to do.
Jake knew that his now former boss always was last to leave and so he knew that if he was going to confront him without witnesses, this would be the time to do it. He had sat in his car all afternoon waiting for the little snot to come out and the longer he waited, the angrier and more dangerous he was becoming.
Finally, at just past 6:00 p.m., Jacobs came out, locked the front door and was walking to his car, without it seemed, a care in the world. He was actually humming some non-descript tune, which seemed to Jake’s ears as nothing more than mockery towards Jake and his current situation.
Jake had sat waiting for this little bag of wind for nearly three hours, and as time went on, his stomach acid pain continued to grow until it was almost unbearable. No amount of medication was going to stop the pain it seemed. He moaned and almost forgot why he had been sitting here, his stomach pain growing more intense every second and his legs cramping to the point of distraction.
Then he remembered, and he forgot his aches and discomfort to concentrate on what had to be done.
Jacobs, the arrogant bastard, had destroyed his life, not to mention embarrassing him in front of all his coworkers who were no doubt laughing about him over a pint at the corner bar.
Well, he would show this little Jacobs that Jake Caulder was not to be taken lightly and then the others would respect and fear him. They had better or they would learn respect just as the weasel was about to learn.
In all his thinking, Jacobs had walked right past him, and was almost to his car before Jake, who now was not rational at all, started toward him. At the last second, Jacobs turned just in time to see the tire iron come swinging towards his face. In fact it was the last thing that Mr. Jacobs would see. Jake continued to hit him again and again until his face was nothing but a red pulpy mess.
